Alleviate Pain with Dry Needling at Gilkey Chiropractic

Discover the benefits of Intramuscular Manual Therapy/Dry Needling (IMT/DN) at Gilkey Chiropractic with Dr. Nathan Gilkey. By placing a fine filiform needle into myofascial trigger points, our skilled practitioners stimulate a healing response that can alleviate pain and improve muscle performance. Unlike acupuncture, dry needling focuses on relieving soft tissue and joint pain without altering energy flow along meridians. This therapy can effectively release natural opioids, reduce inflammation, and enhance joint lubrication, offering significant relief for conditions like knee and hip osteoarthritis. Prior to treatment, review the potential risks to ensure a safe and informed experience. Reclaim your mobility and comfort with dry needling today.

Dry Needling:

Why?

I had a knee injury during chiropractic school. Shortly after, classmates introduced me to dry needling. Just two sessions improved my pain and mobility.

How?

I use tiny sterilized filiform needles to stimulate muscle and nerve tissue. Once safely placed, differing pain relieving electrical frequencies may be used for added stimulation.

Who?

  • Lower back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Migraines / Headaches
  • Leg pain / Sciatica
  • Shoulder Pain
  • Knee Pain
  • Peripheral Nerve Injuries
  • Carpal Tunnel
  • Cubital Tunnel
  • Morton’s Neuroma
  • Piriformis Syndrome
  • Tarsal Tunnel

When?

I encourage patients to try 4-6 dry needling sessions within 3-4 weeks of their initial consultation. This is a general recommendation; we can find a treatment frequency that is effective and fits with your finances / daily life.
